What is the maximum output size?
The maximum upload is 10 MB. To fit the AI model's memory limit, images above roughly 2 megapixels are scaled down before upscaling, so the output size depends on that. For example, a 3000×2000 photo (6 megapixels) is reduced to about 1730×1155 and then enlarged, giving roughly 3460×2310 at 2x, or about 6930×4620 at 4x on Pro. Small and medium images keep their full size.
Can I upscale PNG files?
Yes. imgmend accepts JPG, PNG, and WEBP input files, and downloads are PNG files. If your PNG has a transparent background, check the result — the AI model may not preserve transparency, so for cutouts it is safer to upscale first and remove the background afterwards.

What is an image enlarger?

Why is my upscaled image blurry?
If the source image has very low resolution (under 100×100px) or is heavily compressed, AI upscaling improves quality but cannot invent detail that was never present. For best results, use the highest quality version of the original photo. If you have a JPEG, use the least-compressed version available.
