How Do You Blur an Image?
To blur an image, add it to the tool above, choose Whole picture or drag a rectangle or oval over the part you want blurred, set the blur amount and click Download; the blurred copy is created in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
- Add the picture.
- Select the whole picture or an area.
- Set the amount and download.
How Do You Blur a Face or Part of a Photo?
Choose Oval area, drag over the face on the picture and raise the amount until the features can no longer be made out. Use Rectangle area for signs, screens or number plates. Only the selected area changes; everything else stays sharp.
Is Blur a Safe Way to Hide Information?
Use a high amount if you are hiding something. A light blur can sometimes still be read or recognised, and small text is especially risky. For passwords, card numbers or other sensitive text, cover the area with a solid block in an editor instead of blurring it.
What This Tool Does Not Do
It blurs the area you select; it does not find the background automatically. To replace a background, use the background remover. If you want the opposite, to sharpen a blurry picture, try fix a blurry photo.
