How Do You Convert an Image to Another Format?

To convert an image, add it to the converter, choose JPG, PNG or WebP as the output format and click Convert; the new file downloads straight from your browser, and nothing is uploaded. You can add up to 20 files and download them together as a ZIP.

  1. Add your JPG, JFIF, PNG, WebP, BMP or GIF files.
  2. Choose the output format.
  3. Convert and download.

What Is Not Supported Yet?

The converter reads formats that web browsers can open: JPG, JFIF, PNG, WebP, BMP and GIF (animated GIFs keep only their first frame). TIFF, HEIC, PSD and camera RAW files are not supported yet. If you have a TIFF, see how to convert TIFF to PNG or JPG.

Converting re-saves the picture from its decoded pixels, which removes metadata such as EXIF camera details and GPS location.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the image converter free?

Yes. There is no signup, no watermark and no daily limit. It runs in your browser.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The conversion happens on your device in the browser, so the files are not sent to a server.

How many images can I convert at once?

Up to 20 files per batch, which you can download one by one or as a single ZIP.

Does converting lower the quality?

Saving as PNG keeps the pixels exactly as decoded. Saving as JPG or WebP at a quality setting below 100 discards some detail to make the file smaller.

Why are some of my files rejected?

The browser could not read them. TIFF, HEIC, PSD and RAW files are not supported yet.
