How Do You Convert a GIF to JPG?
To convert a GIF to JPG, add the GIF to the converter above, keep JPG selected and click Convert; the first frame of the GIF is saved as a JPG picture from your browser without being uploaded.
- Add your GIF files.
- Keep JPG as the output.
- Convert and download.
What Happens to the Animation?
A JPG file holds one still picture, so only the first frame of an animated GIF is saved and the movement is dropped. A GIF that is not animated converts as it looks. This tool does not extract every frame of an animation.
JPG Is Smaller, PNG Keeps More Detail
GIFs hold at most 256 colors, so a photo-like GIF is already limited. JPG makes a small file and is accepted almost everywhere; choose PNG instead if the GIF is a graphic or has transparent areas, because PNG keeps flat colors and transparency. See PNG vs JPEG.
