Does Converting TIFF to PNG Lose Quality?
No. TIFF and PNG can both store the picture without any loss, so the pixels are preserved. Transparency is kept. Two things do change: 16-bit TIFFs are saved as 8-bit PNGs, and metadata such as camera details is removed. The PNG is usually smaller than an uncompressed TIFF.
Multi-Page TIFFs and Unsupported Files
Each page of a multi-page TIFF is saved as its own PNG, named page 1, page 2 and so on. TIFFs that use JPEG compression are not supported yet; re-save them without JPEG compression or export them from the program that made them. For other options, read how to convert TIFF to PNG or JPG.
