How Do You Convert TIFF to JPG?
To convert TIFF to JPG, add the .tif or .tiff file to the converter above, keep JPG selected, choose a quality (90 is a good start) and click Convert; the JPG downloads from your browser without being uploaded.
- Add the TIFF files.
- Keep JPG and set the quality.
- Convert and download.
Why Is the JPG So Much Smaller?
TIFF files often store the image with little or no compression. JPG compresses the picture and discards some fine detail, so the file is much smaller and opens almost everywhere. Keep the original TIFF if you may need the full quality later, or convert to PNG for a lossless copy.
What About Transparency and Extra Pages?
JPG cannot hold transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid color (white by default). Each page of a multi-page TIFF is saved as its own JPG. TIFFs that use JPEG compression are not supported yet. To shrink the result further, use the image compressor.
