How Do You Convert a JFIF File to JPG?
To convert JFIF to JPG, add the .jfif file to the converter above, keep JPG selected and click Convert; you get a .jpg file straight from your browser.
- Add the .jfif file or files.
- Keep JPG as the output and leave quality at 90 or higher.
- Click Convert and download.
Should You Rename the File Instead?
A real .jfif file is already a JPEG, so renaming it to .jpg works and changes nothing in the image. Converting here re-encodes the picture, which at a high quality setting is almost invisible but not exactly lossless. Use the converter when you cannot rename the file (for example on a phone), when you want several files done at once, or when you want to remove the metadata.
Other JPEG Extensions
Files ending in .jpe, .pjpeg or .jpeg are also JPEG images. See JPEG to JPG and JPG vs JPEG for the details. If you need a PNG, use JFIF to PNG.
Frequently Asked Questions

Add the .jfif file to the converter, keep JPG selected and click Convert. You can also rename the extension to .jpg.
Does converting JFIF to JPG lose quality?
Renaming loses nothing. Converting re-encodes the image, so use a high quality setting such as 90 to 100 to keep it almost identical.
Why does my image download as .jfif?
Some combinations of Windows and web browsers save web pictures as .jfif. The content is a normal JPEG.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser on your device.
